Alan Moore Talks Jacen Burrows For Providence: The Art Book And Complete Slipcase Set

02c854b0df0630df3bbacba767d6c9db_originalDreadful Beauty: The Art of Providence is a celebration of the work of Jacen Burrows working with Alan Moore. Over 15 years of his works are featured here, all showcasing Burrows’ original pencils and inks. Included is a complete cover gallery — from The Courtyard to Neonomicon to Providence — as well as choice pages, designs, and lots of unused and never-before-made-public art.

This companion volume showcases the artwork and the manual labour that went into bringing it to life. And preorders are available on Kickstarter.

The Providence Complete Slipcase will contain hardcover editions in an exclusive slipcase with new art by Burrows containing Neonomicon, Providence Act 1, Providence Act 2, Providence Act 3, and Dreadful Beauty: The Art of Providence. The slipcase set is limited to 1000 copies and none of the volumes within will have further hardcover editions. Honest. Have a listen to what the big man has to say…

Alan Moore says “Jacen Burrows, somehow combining immaculate Swiss-watch precision and wrenching human emotion, is a contemporary master of comic-book art with an instantly classical style that looks like it’s surely been around forever; a timeless line that is as distinctive and original as anything the medium has ever produced. And while I am admittedly biased, I believe his astonishing work on Providence to represent a new level of accomplishment in the career of this already stellar artist and craftsman. A unique and genuinely remarkable talent.”

So, you know, Do what he says. He is Alan Moore. Donor reward levels range from $9 to $599 and include Alan Moore signed items and Jacen Burrows sketches.

Providence is published by Avatar Press, owners of Bleeding Cool.
