First Look At 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' And More At The Disney Shareholder Meeting

starwarslastjediThe annual Disney shareholder meeting is underway in Denver. A reporter from the L.A times named Daniel Miller is there and has been tweeting some of the clips and various news being dropped in the meeting.

Walt Disney's chairman and chief executive Bob Iger confirmed that development and early production is underway for Ant-Man & The Wasp and a clip of Baby Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was shown. Iger assured investors that they will love him, probably because he will sell roughly eleven billion toys.

Cars 3 will feature its first female racer, and considering the Cars series is the biggest merchandising center for Pixar, that is fairly big news.

Miller also said that shareholders got to see several renderings of the Star Wars lands in Florida and Anaheim, and described them as "lush and complex".

The opening sizzle reel featured clips from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Thor: Ragnorok, and more footage from Beauty and the Beast. In another extended clip for Beauty and the Beast, Iger said "pretty good" after investors applauded.

It also appeared that during the Q&A people were not shying away from Iger's involvement in the Trump administration but Iger insists he does "not currently intend to step down from the council".

However, it is the descriptions of the footage from Star Wars: The Last Jedi that is currently making the rounds. Iger said that the movie is "a perfect chapter in the iconic Skywalker family drama." Miller posts about the brief scenes that he saw and answered some questions from fans as they came in.

On the liveblog that the L.A Times is keeping for the meeting, they shared some quoted about the movie and the late Carrie Fisher from Iger.

"Carrie Fisher has been an iconic part in this franchise from the very beginning," he said. "We all miss her. She has great talent and wit. We're proud that this movie coming up is part of her legacy."

Miller's twitter and the L.A. Times' liveblog go into greater detail about Iger's involvement with the Trump administration, the status of ESPN, and whether or not Iger has a favorite princess (spoiler alert: he doesn't).
