Legend Of Korra, The Adventure Continues At Emerald City Comicon

20170304_114442

Burr Martin writes from Emerald City Comicon, from the Legend of Korra panel.

Irene Koh told the audience that she was the perfect person to take the reigns of the comic series Legend of Korra: Turf Wars.
"I'm Asian, bisexual and a martial artist"

The comics take place almost immediately after the series, as we see someone trying to harness the spirit world and make the spirit portal more of a carnival for profit, something the Benders will have nothing of!

Koh is working close with the creators to make sure everything flows well from the series and while she told us it was a lot of pressure, the fanbase has been mostly loving.

When asked about any references, she said she was given a "Bonding Bible" which showed all the different martial art styles for present and future characters and that while having fun drawing the different styles, it's showing the "weight" of the moves that's important to keep the flow.

She briefly mentioned her stint with TMNT and her story of Casey and April, minus the turtles. She said she loved showing the intimacy of the two characters when they aren't trying to save New York.
