Secret Empire Really Began In Deadpool #27, With Vital Plot Points!

Are you planning to pick up the new Captain America-centric event Secret Empire that Bleeding Cool has been telling you about since July?

But where does it begin? The end if Pleasant Hill that saw Kobik rewrite Captain America into always having been an agent of Hydra? Of the new run of Captain America then ended with a "Hail Hydra"? Or Civil War II: The Oath, which saw Captain America confess all to the comatose Tony Stark, acknowledge the fact that he is a rewritten personality, and see the future of a fascist America with concentration camps, lorded over by Hydra, and ending with a Secret Empire logo?

Well, might I also proffer last week's Deadpool #27? Which sees Captain America-types from the future come back in time to kill the traitor Steve Rogers. The fascistic state he creates. And bring back the availability of pornography.

And the first use, in continuity, of the phrase "Secret Empire", this time around.

And for Captain America to organise a death-by-Deadpool….

Naughty naughty Captain America.

And an opportunity to use Agent Phil Coulson as a witness.

Which sets off a sequence of events that sees old Phil do what old Phil does best. Stand around thinking, and working it all out.

And we have the murder of Charles Dalton, agent of SHIELD, seen last in Secret Avengers back in 2013. And a possible Captain America involvement, now director of SHIELD, being investigated by Agent Coulson.

Just saying, Secret Empire watchers, if you missed this, you might want it in your collection.
