Meghan McCain – In Need Of A DC Comics Care Package?

Partisan politics are infecting every walk of life. But comics seem to be infecting the political walk back again. We've has Marvel Chairman Ike Perlmutter fund Donald Trump's political campaign, then join the US administration while his wife Laura Perlmutter sat on his inauguration committee – only for Trump to quote from Dark Knight Rises in his speech – and appoint Steven Mnuchin, one of the men who funded that movie, as well as Suicide Squad, Batman V Superman, Lego Batman and more as Treasury Secretary. This is the administration that comic books built.

Recently, senator and Presidential candidate John McCain, criticised the recent raid on Yemen by US Forces, that saw the death of US Navy DEAL William Ryan Owens, saying ""Every military operation has objectives. And while many of the objectives of the recent raid in Yemen were met, I would not describe any operation that results in the loss of American life as a success… Going forward, I am confident that our military will act on lessons learned from this operation to strengthen our fight against our terrorist enemies."

Navy Seal Carl Higbie hit back on live television, saying "I think John McCain does owe an apology to the Owens family. I think it was dishonorable of him, too… He called it an unsuccessful mission because of a plane crash? This is a guy who crashed an enormous amount of planes during training. Look, these things happen, and it's not an unsuccessful mission just simply because John McCain doesn't like Trump."

But it was Meghan McCain, John McCain's daughter and Fox News presenter, who replied with the comic book reference…

A DC PR person with a head on their shoulders might have already sent out a selection of comic books…
