Many fans had complaints about the final chapter of Final Fantasy XV and it looks like their wishes may have been granted. Alongside a Gladio-focused DLC, Square Enix will be updating Chapter 13 due to fan pressure.

The final chapters of XV always felt a bit off as they narrowed the game down from open world to a linear progression that avoided several of the narrative threads that had been running alongside the rest of the game's main plot – what happened to the power of friendship huh?

While game director Hajime Tabata has previously denied that the thirteenth game chapter was rushed through production, he did agree to respond to fans' complaints saying that "the amount of stress inflicted on the player while running through this chapter was greater than we had anticipated. We believe resolving this issue will naturally lead to a better gameplay experience."

So, wish granted. It will probably not be what we want it to. But we'll find out March 28th.

The DLC we'll be getting alongside the Chapter 13 update is Episode Gladio, allowing players to control the FFXV tank for the first time which promises an entirely different playstyle to Noctis and his warp-strikes. Other updates include support for a 60FPS frame rate. For those of you who like that kind of thing.

In somewhat related news, Tabata told Weekly Famitsu that he wants to bring Final Fantasy XV to PC. Which could be cool, I guess. And maybe we'll be able to drive the Regalia off road during free drive. Not sure why you'd want to ruin that gorgeous car but, I can't stop you.

A previous version of this post erroneously referred to Chapter 13 as the game's final chapter. There are 15 Chapters total, my bad.
