Disney have agreed to produce content for internet chat megabrand Snapchat. Quite what format (or within what context) these shows will take is not yet clear, but their previous Oscars experience may give clues.
Reuters delivered the news, and gave us the following from Disney-ABC exec John Frelinghuysen:
Earlier this year, we worked closely with Snap on a very successful The Oscars Live Story and we look forward to building on that relationship and providing Snapchat’s mobile-centric users with a unique, immersive experience around our shows and brands
I can’t see this being anything other than another way to get content out there. Content like esteemed director Joe Quesada‘s debut feature Slingshot (which recently got a making of) which can be found on ABC’s site.
