James Bond Plays In The Snow

Here's a fun little comparison for a Sunday afternoon when most of our readers are dealing with the cold and snow. The writers and producers of James Bond films seem to love putting their secret agent on the slopes… because he's been there a lot.

In 1969, George Lazenby would take on the role of James Bond for the first and only time in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. In one of the film's classic scenes, Bond is being chased down a ski slope by armed gun men. The Bond films were known for being on the cutting edge of technology and this is how the chase scene looked.

Forty-six years later, Daniel Craig is in Spectre, his fourth Bond film. There is another snowy mountain chase, but this time in stead of skis, Bond is following a couple of vehicles with a skidding plane.

But Bond has spent a lot of time in the snow. Here Pierce Brosnan hit the slops in The World Is Not Enough from 1999.

And Roger Moore puts on a yellow snow suit to add a degree of difficulty to escaping thugs in The Spy Who Love Me from 1977. Forgive the blue screen background and disco music… it was the 70's.

But Timothy Dalton might win on style points as he escapes the bad guys in a cello case in The Living Daylights from 1987.

That's not all of the snow chases, just a nice sampling.
