The Battle Of Houses Begins In Mistborn: House War

As a lover of tabletop games, I'm always on the lookout for what's new and exciting. A lot of really unique games can be found on Kickstarter, and when I stumbled upon this one the other day, I had to share it with you. It's called, Mistborn: House War, and it's the first official board game set in the world of Brandon Sanderson's best-selling Mistborn novels. The game is designed by Kevin Wilson (Arkham Horror, The X-Files) and developed by Crafty Games. In Mistborn: House War players take on the role of leaders of great noble Houses, struggling to weather the cataclysmic events of the first novel of the series. Each House has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Here's what the creative team has to say:

"Based on the success of our Kickstarter campaign, we hope to further emphasize House Venture's unique character by adding named personalities like Straff and Elend Venture to the game, alongside other familiar faces like Telden Hasting, Jastes Lekal, and the High Prelan. These personalities not only bring new rules into the game, but provide special bonuses when played by their associated House which further sculpts that House's play style and strategies. To get there, we need your help!"

I really love how epic and detailed the art style is. When it comes to purchasing table top games, their appearance matters just as much to me as the mechanics of the game. It has to be worth the price. From what I can see, Mistborn: House War looks pretty awesome.

You can find an incredibly detailed explanation of how the game works on their Kickstarter page, along with a video of how each turn is supposed to go. Mistborn: House War will run until July 20th, so if you'd like to participate be sure to head on over and contribute.
