MTV liked what it saw from the new series Scream and asked for a second season. The series, based on the horror movie franchise, had a strong debut pulling in 1.56 million viewers when including DVR watchers. The show also did well in the networks target demo of 12-34 where it had 997,000 viewers. The premiere episode was also available on MTV.com and the MTV app where it has been streamed 506,000 times. All of this leads to renewal.
