Animated News – Simpsons, South Park And Adventure Time

We have three bits of news pertaining to long running animated series.

mr.-burnsFirst up, fans of the Simpsons will be happy to hear that the talented Harry Shearer will be returning for the 27th season of the series after all. Shearer and the cast will be making $300,000.00 per episode with the new contracts. The versatile actor provides the voices for Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, Smithers, Reverend Lovejoy, Otto and many more. [Source: EW.com]

Moving on to South Park, the Comedy Central mainstay will continue to be just that through at least 2019 as Matt Stone and Trey Parker have signed on for three more seasons. The series, which debuted in 1997, will carry on through its 23rd season and 304 episodes by the end of the new contract. [Source: Deadline]

And finally, not nearly as old as the first two series mentioned, but Cartoon Network has picked up the very popular Adventure Time and Regular Show for their 8th seasons. Also renewed are Uncle Grandpa, Steven Universe and Clarence. [Source: THR.com]
