Scenes From Around 'The Block' At New York Comic Con

by Ray Flook

"The Block brings together art, design, collectible toys, pop-tech and fashion of the underground pop culture scene along with the tastemakers, trend setters, artists, thinkers and the brands that they create." (ReedPOP)

I'm amazed by how much more popular The Block has become since its inclusion into New York Comic Con several years back. It's gone from being seen by some as "the place to put the non-comic book/video game/movies/TV exhibitors" to becoming a "junior exhibit hall" with its own unique artistic identity for those looking to expand their pop culture horizons beyond back-issue bins and video screens.
