Sempé, Creator Of Petit Nicolas, The Subject Of Repeated Robberies

Le-Petit-NicolasCreator of the French cartoons Petit Nicolas, Sempé, aged 81, has been the subject of several robberies in his Parisien home.

Le Parisiene reports that a man who was about to sell several drawings by the artist, stolen from his workshop in January 2012, was arrested this week in a hotel by police after a sting operation.

The suspect is a manager of a company who employs home carers, and as a result had access to keys to Sempé's home.

Some of the art, each page worth thousands, was recovered. This came on top of money being withdrawn from his bank account last year, using credit cards which went missing but were then returned.

The police appear to have a lot to work with…
