Mars Attacks Judge Dredd Gets A Series – More IDW At Chicago

mars-attacks-judge-dreddWe'd already heard lots from IDW at the Diamond Retailer Summit in Chicago, including something rather TMNT spoileriffic. None of that in this article though, feel safe.

IDW representatives continued to talk to retailers through the day.

As a result of the Mars Attacks Judge Dredd variant cover they did for the earlier Mars Attacks series, but Rebellion liked it so much they've approved a Mars Attacks Judge Dredd four issue mini-series

The Magic: The Gathering comics will start to tie in more and more to the Magic card sets, and plan to start listing the included card in solicitations.

The Artist's Edition volumes won;t ever be issued with Manufacturer's Recommended Sales Prices, stores are free to set their own and, apparently, that keeps them off Amazon

Star Trek comics will start to be annotated by official new canon Stardate, and currently have Star Trek experts working that all out for them. Issue 22 of Star Trek will kick off After Darkness, ten days after the movie opens in the US.

IDW did a mock slide presentation that, in the wake of DC's WTF month, they would create LOL and ROTFLMAO month. I've got to get copies of those…

Their Powerpuff Girls comic will see its first issue in September, Samurai Jack in October and Ben 10 after that. They described their Cartoon Network plan as "coming together nicely". I'm picturing Ted Adams as Hannibal, there.

They will publish the Superman daily newspaper strips from 1958 to 1961 and see themselves proud to be part of the legacy of the character.

They will reprint old Rocky And Bullwinkle, as well as creating new comics, with Mr Peabody and Sherman to follow.

There will be a Red Star hardcover collection later this year, as is Kevin Eastman's Zombie War.

They also talked about printing in Korea, and noted that it wasn't cheaper, but they got better quality books. This also requires them to decide print runs before the Final Order Cut Off date and stated that IDW books that ship in the first half of the month have print runs based only on initial orders.
