Stand Up At C2E2 For Eliot Rahal

hunter

Eliot Rahal writes for Bleeding Cool;

Eliot Rahal here… co-creator/writer of Dark Horse's newest, most drunken, private detective Hunter Quaid Who is crash landing on shelves in Dark Horse Presents, May 22nd! Oh… Wait… So, you don't know I am? Well, do you at least know my writing partner/emotional enabler Donny Cates?… No, not yet you say, GASP!

Well you'll know us, by God you'll all know soon enough. ← (Meant to be informatively menacing, not creepy).

Anyway….

I write this because C2E2 is coming up, and Donny (Especially Donny) and I have some really exciting announcements to make, this article being one of them!

In addition to being an up and coming comic book creator, I am a stand up comic and have been performing for over five years. I basically grew up learning to do stand up in Chicago, and for four glorious years I was a cast member at the country's longest running independent comedy showcase – The Lincoln Lodge. Now, upon

my return to the city of big shoulders, I will actually have the privilege of performing with Stand Up, Stand Up at C2E2!

The Show will be April 26th, 4:30pm. The McCormick Place (Duh!) @ The Variant Stage. If you so desire you can check out the Stand Up, Stand Up page on the C2E2 web-site Here. Some very awesome people are going to be there such as Donny and I. Not to mention some pretty sweet DARK HORSE GIVEAWAYS (Yay free stuff)!

Who is Stand Up, Stand Up: Real quick let get on my high (DARK!) horse, and plug the hog butcher of the world – Chicago. From October 8th to October 10th, 1871 nearly 17,500 buildings were destroyed. Out of the over crowded population of 300,000 – 100,000 thousand were left homeless, and nearly 300 were killed. This event was once considered one of the greatest modern catastrophes of all time – The Great Chicago Fire. v2

From that fire, Chicago became the Second City, rebuilt from the ashes of the first. And from it Chicago became a city of spirited hustlers – The Windy City. Chicago became a home for ground breaking theatre, northern Blues, and the best stand up comedy in the country. And Stand Up, Stand Up proudly continues that tradition.

Keith Paesel, Todd Massey, Ken Witzgall, James Webb, Alex Berger, Richard Pollak, and Jake McKenzie produce an unique, hip weekly comedy showcase featuring both local and national stand up comedians and musical acts. It is EVERY Thursday, 9pm @ The Crocodile Lounge (1540 N. Milwaukee Ave) – 21+. You can check them out at their website – http://stanupstandup.net.
