David Lapham Transforms Into 3% Deathlok

David Lapham Transforms Into 3% Deathlok Mike McLarty writes for Bleeding Cool.

David Lapham announced today on Twitter that despite suffering a relatively serious injury to his arm, he is coming forward with his realization that he is indeed a Miracle of Modern Science.

Here are the excerpts detailing his transition from organic to something more human than human.

MIRACLES OF MODERN SCIENCE: I wasn't even going to mention this, but I'm so in awe, I had to…So on Fri. I snaped my arm in two.

… My humerus. Fell and crack. It's flopping around behind me. My drawing arm.

To all those who have recently questioned Lapham's mental state based upon the content of Deadpool Max and Crossed: Family Values, it seems that he remains in control of his faculties. His primary concern focused upon his publishing obligations. This man is a trooper!

Seriously, I can't be the only person who has opined that the mind that spawned these books may have a few cracks in the foundation, can I? Anyone?

… I'm thinking. Good thing I've been doing so much writing lately. Although I am in the middle of this DMZ fill in. Well, that's done…

…Fri. Night they bring me into surgery and put a steel rod down through my bone and screw it together…

…Monday. I'm back inking.

Friday, arm broke. Monday, I'm back in the fucking saddle. How nuts is that?!

That is quite nuts. Not as nuts as say, a zombie mother eating her recently liberated fetus, but this is pretty out there.

The internet is buzzing with speculation on how exactly this life-changing injury occurred. Andy Diggle was one of the first to confront Lapham with his hypothesis.

Sheeeit. Sympathies. You didn't crash into @GeneHa did you?

Yes, more injuries within the comics community are afoot. Gene Ha just announced a physical trauma that he endured yesterday.

Accident yesterday, both cars totaled. Other driver fine, I got away w stitches on back of head. Bit of unearned grace, thank God. 2010, ugh

To conspiracy theorists, this may seem a bit too coincidental. Is it possible that some type of Glycon-induced hex has been placed on some of the most talented comics creators?

When it comes to Lapham, he's not talking.

I refuse to say what lame as thing I did to get said arm, preferring instead to concentrate on now being 3% Deathlok.

And yes the incisions are sore and will take a while to heal but it's absolutely nothing in comparison to a broken bone.

He's already realizing the long lasting implications of his injury.

I get out of changing diapers an doing dishes for a couple of weeks though.

I'm sure there are some Photoshop wizards out there who can work some Lapham/Deathlok magic, but in the meantime, look at the uncanny resemblance between these two images.

Best wishes and a speedy recovery for Lapham and Ha. Let's hope there are no more curious injuries in the days and weeks ahead.
