Tuesday Runaround – One Year On For The Mouse Of Ideas

Tuesday Runaround – One Year On For The Mouse Of IdeasMarvelWatch: Today is the first anniversary of Disney's purchase of Marvel Comics. What has changed? In the day-to-day comics, very little. Certain international licensing issues have changed, but everything seems to be going on as per usual. There's more brand extension into spinoff titles, but then hasn't that always been the way?

No one has launched a Disney boycott over Punisher MAX, Nemesis or Kick-Ass yet. It's all same old, same old. Until the rumoured move to Orlando starts to rear its ugly head again of course…

CompoWatch: Will Bleeding Cool poster Adam V please get in contact? You have a Thor Hammer waiting for you, private messages in your inbox and a comment on your blog…. if I don't hear anything by the end of the day it goes to someone else!

MangaWatch: One Piece is to take a month break – during which two years will pass for the characters – including a lot of training thatm, unlike Dragonball Z, you'll never get to see…

TerrorWatch: Forget Civilian Justice. This is a comic book about a real terrorist fighter – Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan.

Aditya has been making the rounds of schools to popularise his comics.  "We are planning to start a campaign 'Adopt a Hero' where we'll go to schools and colleges with senior defence personnel and will narrate their stories which will create awareness about their valour and courage," said Aditya.

MusicWatch: Luke Doucet and The White Falcon have collaborated with artist David Collier to create a comic book based around their latest album Steel City Trawle, prioduced by Andrew Scott.

This record is really a collaboration of three people: It's myself and Andrew and David. It's about me, it's got my name on the cover, I wrote most of the songs, I'm going to go out on tour and wave the banner of the whole thing, but, really, it's every bit as much Andrew's record as it is mine, and it's every bit as much David's project as it is mine.

FootballWatch: Is Craig Bellamy the new Roy Race? Roy Of The Rovers' artist Peter Acton seems to think so.

Roy was the idealistic vision of a goal-scoring machine," he said. "He is a national institution and if Craig Bellamy can help get Cardiff into the Premier League, he will be too.

2000ADWatch1: The Earthside 8 prototype for a new 2000AD-style kids comic from the nineties has just hit eBay. And has over £40/$60 so far…

2000ADWatch2: John Caliber has been working on a Judge Dredd RPG for a while and has created a free downloadable guide to all locations mentioned in the comics (and spin-offs that don't contradict them), the first volume is out now and there is also an interview with him explaining what he has been doing:

2000ADWatch3: Patrick Ward has been using zBrush to create Johnny Alpha and Durham Red 3D models:
