London Book Fair Under A Cloud

London Book Fair Under A CloudTomorrow, in my role as Avatar Foreign Rights Manager (I know, I laugh just to type it) I'm attending the London Book Fair at Earl's Court (sans children for once, though I'll have the little one with me on Tuesday and Wednesday) courtesy of Diamond Book Distrubutors.

They're putting the boat out of this one, with comics elevated to their own section, the Comic And Graphic Novel Pavilion, and dining area the Comic Cafe.

Of course there is a problem, that dratted cloud of volcanic ash still grounding all planes with no end in sight. Not only are Brits stranded in Chicago, but comic publishers can't make it to what is often one of the biggest deal-making events in Europe.

Of course that hasn't stopped people trying. And the realisation that those who do make it, could have the pickings to themselves….
