The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus – A Christmas Present To America

Last month, Brendon Connelly of /film and occasionally Bleeding Cool wrote;

While there’s no official announcement of US distribution for Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, the puzzle pieces really are starting to click into shape now. I’m of the mind that, most likely, the American release date for the film is going to be December 25th, and that the distributor will be Sony Pictures Classics.

Today Sony have confirmed the news with this little nugget.

That’s a long time to wait… thankfully the UK release of this most bizarre movie, which definitely looks in the vein of Time Bandits and Baron Munchausen, is on October the 16th. I believe that is cultural revenge for the delay of Up.

Either way, if you fancy helping the US distribution out, go to Fandango and request tickets… now. Requests get compiled and make a difference. Now let’s have a pretty looking still…

Terry Gilliam is a cartoonist first you know. Always remember that.
