Welcome to the latest edition of BC Toy Spotting! We are in and out of stores pretty much every day, and we figure (ha!) why not show all of our fellow collectors what we are coming across on pegs and shelves. As collectors, we know that staying on top of what is in stores can […]
While we're still not sure which side of the dualing Child's Play / Chucky projects we're on, there are some interesting updates coming out of the MGM reboot currently filming. One such thing is a set video shared by Brian Tyree Henry on his Instagram account, where he totally punks the cast of young actors and actresses. […]
Funko announces tons of new products and licenses every day, let alone every week. It can be a lot to keep up with. So we are here to help. Welcome to the Funko Round-Up! In this edition: Thanos becomes the Infinity Stones, a bunch of classic cartoon characters get the Pop treatment, and more horror […]
Things are moving quickly on that MGM reboot of Child's Play apparently, so quickly in fact that a first look image of the red-headed murderous doll, Chucky. This first look image teases a new version of Chucky, still with those piercing blue eyes and signature carrot top: Production is underway on the Child's Play reboot which will […]
We literally said out loud, "But is this the good Child's Play thing, with Don Mancini?" when prepping to write about this. Because, as you may know, there is another reboot of Child's Play currently in development on the film side, one which "Chucky Daddy" Mancini (co-writer) is NOT a part of. This project sounds like the one MGM […]
If you were a fan of FX series Sons of Anarchy, then you more than likely are watching their spin-off series, Mayans MC. Perhaps you noticed a familiar face in episode 2, someone who had some pretty memorable hands. We're speaking of course of character Chucky Marstein, played by Michael Ornstein, who had giant wooden and plastic […]
Funko announces tons of new products and licenses every day, let alone every week. It can be a lot to keep up with. So we are here to help. Welcome to the Funko Round-Up! In this edition: Prince comes to the Pop Rocks line in style, Mega Man gets a new Pop Tee and Pop […]
Chucky in all of his creepy, gross, should-not-exist glory is getting yet another doll release from Mezco Toyz. This new Mega Figure stands at 15 inches tall, and it talks! The doll says tons of things (unfortunately) in that familiar, terrifying voice done by the great Brad Dourif. Sculpting for this doll is admittedly amazing. […]
Don Mancini, co-writer of the first Child's Play movie, wanted to make sure he thanked fans for their support in the strange case of warring Chucky projects. The filmmaker posted on his Twitter account earlier this month, thanking fans for their support and urging them to read this op-ed from The Hollywood Reporter: Fans & Friends, […]
One of the coolest booths at this years Toy Fair New York was Trick or Treat Studios. Creating old-school style latex masks from some of the most well-known properties in horror, when I first approached the booth I was a little spooked. I mean, there was a full-size Chucky doll sitting there, and nothing is […]
Happy October! It is the best month of the year! The month of Halloween is about candy, haunted houses, and most importantly: horror films and TV shows. One tradition that never stops is AMC FearFest. Now in its 21st year, it is the 24/7 horror marathon that dreams are made of. Slasher fans especially love […]
Mezco has decided to make a toy that will no doubt be popular, but would terrify me forever. Actually, just the picture of these makes me edgy. Deemed "Burst-A-Box", these are a line of jack-in-the-box toys based around horror icons. The boxes themselves are based around the respective franchises, and feature sculpts on the pop […]
Killer doll Chucky is returning to cinemas this fall in the seventh installment of the horror franchise, written and directed by original Child's Play writer Don Mancini, who has written all six films and directed the last two, Cult of Chucky stars Brad Dourif, Fiona Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, and Alex Vincent. The movie picks up […]
By Brian Goldberg NYCC doesn't quite have as many exclusives as its San Diego counterpart, so I tried to get my hands on whatever I could manage while hobbling from booth to booth on a broken foot. I'm a fan of horror movies and exclusive Funko Pops. When I heard that the theme of the […]
Exploring a creepy attic is never a good idea in a horror film. Especially if you're holding Chucky in your arms whilst you do it.
I look forward to seeing Curse of Chucky at Frightfest later this month. So much so that I probably don't need to see any more trailers, but... well, part of the job description, isn't it, I suppose?
People in horror movies do the stupidest things. With their fingers.
Curse of Chucky is headed straight to disc later this year, though I'm holding out hope of a Frightfest screening in the UK.
He's just a little fella... possessed by evil.
A judicious use of "effing" leads to poster satisfaction.
