Game Of Thrones Now The Most Awarded Primetime Show At The Emmys Ever
Last night the Emmys came and went, with a whole bunch of great TV being awarded. One of the big winners was Game of Thrones, and it wasn't just any sweep for the show as it has now passed a siginificant milestone.
The show picked up 13 Emmys of the 22 it was nominated for, bringing its all time total to 38, beating out Frasier as the previously most awarded drama show ever (SNL has 44 awards.) Perhaps most importantly for the show, it picked up best Drama for the second year in a row, while the Battle of the Bastards episode won Best Drama Writing and Best Directing.
For me, I thought Season 6 was as strong as the show has ever been, so its great to see it getting applause for really pulling the trigger this season.
With two more seasons to go of Game of Thrones, I wonder if it could pip SNL's 44 all time awards? Doesn't seem impossible at all.
