jamespattersonJames Patterson is an extremely well known and prolific author with multiple thriller series going at once including Alex Cross, Women's Murder Club and Michael Bennett. His stories have been turned in to multiple movies and TV series including Along Came A Spider, Kiss The Girls, Zoo, Women's Murder Club and Alex Cross.

The author had a new novel planned to be released November 1st that he had co-written with Derek Nikitas called The Murder of Stephen King. Yes, THAT Stephen King. The story was focused on a deranged fan that becomes obsessed with the horror author. The problem being that King has had deranged fans and recently had a fan disrupt his home in real life.

Patterson had not consulted King on the novel, claiming to be a fan of his fellow author and hoped that King liked the book. But upon hearing of the invasion, Patterson cancelled the book out of respect, saying he didn't want to cause King or his family any discomfort.

In 2009, King referred to Patterson as a successful yet terrible writer.

Patterson, the highest-earning author for the last three years running, will publish Taking the Titanic in the cancelled book's place.
