Doctor Who's Frazer Hines Cast In Outlander, Confirmed

The Herald newspaper has confirmed the story that Bleeding Cool ran at the weekend, that Frazer Hines would be cast in a role in the Scottish Highlander time travel series Outlander, the book series and TV show that he inspired.

They report that the author of the Outlander books, Diana Gabaldon, confirmed today at the Edinburgh Book Festival that,

Frazer Hines, who she first saw in a kilt in an episode of Dr Who as the character Jamie McCrimmon, which partly inspired Outlander, will appear in the new series as the governor of a prison.

"He is a lovely guy and I am really pleased," she said, "He will be Sir Fletcher Gordon, the governor of Wentworth Prison."
