Checking The Predictions Against WB/DC's Movie Schedule

batman-supermanA while back Nikki Finke announced she knew the upcoming Warner Brothers schedule for DC movies… with today's announcement of 10 new movie dates (9 unnamed), it seemed like a good time to compare her list to these.

Nikki Finke: Batman v Superman (May 2016), Shazam (July 2016), Sandman (X-mas 2016), Justice League (May 2017), Wonder Woman (2017), Flash & Green Lantern (X-mas 2017) and Man Of Steel 2 (May 2018).

WB Anouncement: Batman v Superman 3/25/2016 and Untitled movies: 08/05/2016, 06/23/2017, 11/17/2017, 03/23/2018, 07/27/2018, 04/05/2019, 06/14/2019, 04/03/2020 and 06/19/2020

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – She had it in May of 2016 and the announcement has it in March 25, 2016. To be fair the odds are they moved the movie because of Captain America 3.

Now the most glaring problem here is she has two movies slated for Christmas releases in 2016 (Sandman) and 2017 (Flash & Green Lantern). The only other date in 2016 is August 5th… so no Christmas there. In 2017 there is a November 17th date which is kind of Christmas season.

She had Shazam set at July of 2016 so that could be the August 5th mentioned above. That would make the May 2017 Justice League movie at the June 23, 2017 date. But that leaves her Wonder Woman film date without a match. And her May 2018 Man of Steel 2 date could be the March or July dates…

I believe Finke's information came out prior to Marvel Studios announcing their batch of film dates and that could have made Warner Bros change their dates. But she has 3 movies a year for 2016 and 2017 and there are only 2 dates per year each year according to the studio. Too many problems here for me to have any faith in her information for now.

Finke is sticking by her information though and mentions Metal Men and Suicide Squad as well.
