Wow, good counter argument. I stand corrected.

Yeah, wasn't a fan of nU Constantine's origin either although I am a long time collector of the series
    Marvel: S-man 2099, Rocket Raccoon
DC: Wonder Woman, Injustice, Detective Comics, Sandman Overture
Indie: Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Street Fighter, SkullKickers, Fatale, Elephantmen, Afterlife of Archie, The Wicked+The Divine

    Absolutely.

Nick Nerco is even more boring as a villain than David Graves. Plus, the name sounds like it was made up by a 16 year old.

Add to that the fact that characters like Frankenstein and Amethyst get added to the group for absolutely no reason. And the Michael Bay style movie quips "Game faces kids, it's time to save the world" Gag.

That annual was the final straw. I was going to keep reading this book because I've read every issue of Hellblazer and I'm a completist but I just can't take it, Lemire is terrible.

What did you think about Milligan's run?

But indeed, I can't agree more. I just can't see Constantine leading a team of superheroes or learning magic from a guy named Nick Necro.

Geoff Johns seems to think so

Milligan's run certainly wasn't good but it was better than what the book has become.

I think he suffered because he was trying to keep the original tone each character so it ended up reading kind of schizophrenic.

Again, still better (and more fun) than turning every character into the same generic "badass."

JLD has been one of the standout books of the reboot. Just my two cents.

Yes, because implying that people only like something or think it's edgy because they can't tell the difference is so much less condescending. Sorry, his post, as stated, got exactly the respect it deserved.

From now on, I'm going to refer to this book as Justice League Hot Topic.
