Default Runaway Victor Mancha Gets His Own Marvel Comic... But Who Is Writing It?

As part of the Age Of Ultron crossover this year, Marvel is launching an Ultron comic, featuring Victor Mancha, the son of Ultron who apeared in Runaways, entitled simply ULTRON. It will be drawn by Amilcar Pinna with this delightful cover by Kalman Androsofsky. But as for who is writing it... no idea. Anyone?

    ULTRON #1AU

? Ultron took over the world. ? Ultron killed the heroes. ? Ultron...is your father. ? When you're Victor Mancha, android teen Runaway, "daddy issues" doesn't quite cover it.

You know, when you use the word "launch", it sounds like an ongoing. They're "publishing a one-shot", not "launching a comic".

    A one-shot which I will buy.

In the spirit of this event,
This comic will be written by a computer.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Fred Van Lente and Greg Pak. It seems up their alley and I remember hearing them say they had something in the works.

Oi, a book starring one of the Runaways that I might enjoy? Cool.

So is this a one-shot or some kind o ftie-in miniseries? Or a new ongoing series? Rich and his vague posts make it a guessing game.

    Most likely a one-shot.
And the numbering for these "Age of Ultron"-tie-ins are really cringe-worthy. One of our customers asked me why there are two issues of "Fantastic Four #5" solicited this month (one is #5 and the other one is actually numbered #5.au*). It is rather sad that Marvel has not enough confidence in their own product to name the issue "Age of Ultron: Fantastic Four #1" but have to include it into the main series so that the completists don't feel like they could skip on it.

*which is funny because "au" is German for "ouch!".

Depending on whats gonna happen in this one-shot, "Age of Ultron" and Avengers Arena I wonder if we will ever get a Runaways series ever again.

"They used to call the devil the father of lies. But for someone whose sin is meant to be pride, you'd think that lying would leave something of a sour taste. So my theory is that when the devil wants to get something out of you, he doesn't lie at all. He tells you the exact, literal truth. And he lets you find your own way to hell." Mr. Easterman
