First Trailer For Believe, Written And Directed By Alfonso Cuarón, Produced By JJ Abrams

If the entire pilot script (http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/05/19/script-for-jj-abrams-and-alfonso-cuarons-tv-project-believe-published-online/)...

If the entire pilot script wasn't enough for you, here's the first trailer for Believe.

That's Johnny Sequoyah as Bo, the young superheroine - what else should I call her? - and Jake McLaughlin as her jailbird guardian.

Yes, that looks captivating, and potentially very exciting. There's a built-in ticking clock that would ideally get several seasons to just tock away. I do hope that implicit promise doesn't turn out to be a bit of an embarrassment for the show's producers.

So we're set for two dates with Alfonso Cuarón this Autumn. Believe will get a Sunday night slot on NBC after the end of the football season; his feature film Gravity- which has quite the striking trailer - will finally be released on October 4th in the US then October 18th in the UK.

The whole point of Facebook page I Spoiled Your Movie Ha Ha is to provide captioned images you can 'like' or post on your timeline, thereby ruining plot twists and reveals for your friends.

Seems a little mean spirited, maybe? Or is it just public service, giving you nice pictures to spoil movies with, something better than your normal banal bus stop jabber?

The page was set up less than a day ago. Michael Moran pointed me to it pretty quickly, which did make me suspicious - but he's actually rather anti-spoiler. Much more than me, that's for sure. If the two of us are sharing spoilers, the flow is always in the one direction, Moran to Connelly.

It's arguable that this Facebook page is very naughty indeed, and that all right minded people will stay well clear. It's certain that nobody nice will be using their images as suggested.

But I think there's another problem.

Because unfortunately, the quality of their spoilers just isn't very good.

There are four so far. District 9 seems like a rather random selection, The Great Gatsby is relatively pointless because the book is so very well known, and the Iron Man 3 and Star Trek Into Darkness spoilers land somewhere between missing the point and underselling the surprise.

Here comes the Iron Man 3 spoiler now. As blunt as this is, it's still a weapon and it does still bludgeon some surprise out of the film.

So don't read on unless you've already seen it. Which I'm pretty darn sure almost all of you have.

Really, this isn't the way to spoil these movies. With Trek we'd want a reference to John Harrison's alias, and for Iron Man 3... something I'm not going to mention even here. But I'm sure you know what I mean.

So, either way, pro- or anti-spoiler, I don't think I Spoiled Your Movie Ha Ha is going to win many fans.

I wonder if some better spoilers could help this take off, though? Is the EasySpoilTM mechanic going to make a sport out of peeing in the pool? Are there enough cold hearted bastards using Facebook?

Or are they all just lurking around in our forums?

Thanks to the internets, you can now read the script for the pilot episode of Believe, a new Bad Robot series that NBC will be taking to series this Autumn. The whole thing lives in the window below.

This script was co-written by Alfonso Cuaron and Mark Friedman, and Cuaron will be directing. Surely that alone makes it one of the new season's most exciting prospects?

REMOVED BY REQUEST OF WARNER BROS.

If you want to see producer Neal Edelstein's new picture,Haunting Melissa, you'll need an iOS device, like an iPhone or iPad. The film has been broken down into instalments, and the release plan will see them released at irregular intervals - according to the marketing pitch, "delivered piece by piece when you least expect it - and want it most."

In effect, this means the film will be episodic. Each episode will be available for $1.99 a pop, with a full, HD season pass going for $14.99, or £10.49 here in the UK. I should imagine there will be more than seven episodes, then, so as to make the pass good value. Each time a new one comes available, Push Notifications will be sent out to the app's users.

Here's are two teaser clips for the film. You can see the first chapter in SD for free by downloading the app.

If Haunting Melissa really works, it will be because it has embraced its curious format. I'll check a couple of chapters out and report back.

Peter Willis writes for Bleeding Cool.

Borgman arrived at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival this morning as the first Dutch contender for the Palme d?Or in 38 years. And, though unlikely to walk away with any of the top honours, it will no doubt be one of the most talked movies of the festival ? if for no other reason than trying to unravel its mysteries.

We follow Camiel Borgman (Jan Bijvoet) as he infiltrates a wealthy household and begins to untie the knots that keep the family together, his progress charted assomething between a murderous thriller and outlandish black comedy.

Knocking on the doors of a tree-lined avenue seeking a shower, Borgman soon finds his ?victims?. Hadewych Minis is Marina, an artist who has a strained relationship with businessman husband Richard (Jeroen Perceval).

He slowly works his way into the trust of the household through various guises, becoming an intimate part of their lives while changing them forever. With help from four malicious but ever-polite assailants, Borgman ?takes care of? anyone that happens to get in the way of him reaching his ultimate goal ? whatever that may have been.

Drifting swiftly between the incredibly surreal and the boldly unsettling, Borgman is far from being an uproarious comedy, but the totally absurd nature of many scenes can?t help but leave you with a grin wider than a Cheshire cat.

A sparingly used soundtrack manages to often instill a certain degree of seriousness to the proceedings; introduced at just the right moment when things could easily have got completely stuck in a comedic mire.

Devilishly intriguing throughout the opening hour, Borgman tends to lose its self within its own mystery towards the conclusion. While it is clear that Van Warmerdam didn?t want to paint the whole picture for the audience, the sheer audacity and muddled nature of the final 20 minutes felt entirely out of place in what had, to that point, been a relatively slick and well-guided script.

Although the narrativeisn'tentirely obscure we are left scratching at the surface of something that feels much deeper that, if presented with a shade more reality, could have offered much more. It will doubtless leave many, myself included, feeling ever so slightly short changed.

Primed for multiple sittings, Borgman is slated for release in Europe towards the end of the year.

Man of Steel is really starting to sneak up on us and with so many promotions are flying around (pun intended) it is hard to keep up. Now Walmart are getting in on the action to muddy the water.

While this"behind the scenes"* promo is not anything out of the ordinary, it at least seems to cover the central idea of the film. Mainly focusing on Clark Kent's alien origins which leads him to be nearlyindestructible while still being completelyvulnerable.

Or something.

I like the part where Zack Snyder says:
What world do I belong to? Is it this one or another? Do I have another father on another planet?

While in the next breath saying they start there because we all "share those same questions and insecurities".

Can't say that I do Mr. Snyder, but I can see where you are coming from.

*This actually doesn't take you behind any scenes.

Patrick Dane writes for Bleeding Cool

It seems Gareth Edwards is running around a little, as you do when you are shooting a major movie picture. Just the other day we got a more-than-meets-the-eye video blog marking a year until release.

Today, Legendary Pictures posted this photo on their facebook.

The 1954Godzilla by Ishir? Hondais one of my favorites, and Edwards is a director I am excited about, so myexpectationsare high for this one.

Also, you may or may not know that there is a scene in the original that features Godzilla destroying a train line, swinging a train car around in his mouth. Sure, you could say destroyed trains are the norm for cities under attack by massive monsters, but I'll be damned if this isn't referencing that scene.

While it will take a little more than call back to satisfy me, I must say that I am excited by this nonetheless.

Cannes 2013: An Impressive Miele With An Unsavoury Stranger By The Lake

Peter Willis writes for Bleeding Cool

Arriving a little late to the party, I got my 2013 Cannes Film Festival underway today, with the double treat of an actual on-screen birth and enough non-simulated sex scenes to fill the seediest backstreet sex tavern. And this without the presence of outcast Lars Von Trier.

Nestled between these less than savoury moments, however, came the day's highlight -Miele.

Assisted suicide is not a topic but for the most daring of filmmakers in their first outing as director, but in Miele, Valeria Golino not only takes on the subject, but comes out deserving much praise for a highly accomplished, mature, piece of work.

Jasmine Trinca (Irene) seeks to help those who are suffering with terminal illness find peace in death, but her conscience takes a battering when encountering a new "client" who simply feels depressed and tired of life.

With heavy emphasis on character, and given the subject matter at hand, the movie leaves a lump in the throat on more than one occasion, though not to any solely manipulative agenda. There is balance thanks to asmart alignment with moments of dark humour courtesy of Carlo Cecchi, who plays the depressed Signor Grimaldi.

At times it feels a little like we're treading into Lost In Translationterritory, with moments of clear emotional connection between our two leads, and the irresistible whiff of strong chemistry, though this never actually leads to anything physical.

The eclectic soundtrack takes us from despair to relative joy in a heartbeat, and helps frame Irene's personal battle with her job as she tries to remain as removed from the reality of her work as possible.

The movie could easily have swayed into politicised territory, falling on either side of the euthanasia divide, but it never leans in either direction explicitly, which is to the benefit of the final product, as it swerves the urge to preach. Movies at Cannes often have agendas beyond the screen, yet Miele tackles this difficult subject without any obviousunderlyingpretense.

Given the relatively short 96 minute run-time, there could certainly have been additional development of some of the key themes, including Irene's increasing concern for her own fate, but despite this and other minor shortcomings, Miele will doubtless prove popular on the arthouse circuit, with Valeria Golino certain to find directorial success on a wider scale in the not so distant future.

Miele was not, unfortunately, the first of my screenings today. That honour goes to the less than pulsatingStop The Pounding Heart.

Never really getting out of first gear, the film follows a few weeks in the life of the 14-year-old daughter of a goat farmer Sara, who finds herself falling for the barely audible Colby, an amateur bull-rider from a neighbouring family in the American bible belt, despite her family's staunch religious leanings.

Clearly working with a team of non-actors to fit in with his neo-realist style Texas trilogy, directorRoberto Minervini has ended up delivering a movie which verges on being more documentary than feature film, with creative choices that straddle both camps, to mixed success.

There is no score to speak of, which further emphasises the need to explore more deeply our key characters and their backgrounds, but this is largely ignored and even seemingly key moments crawl by relatively unexplained. The result is a remarkably demanding experience, alienating all but the most patient of audience members, and leaving precious few rewards even for those who persevere. There are some interesting comments to be made here, and some are flirted with, but there's very little engagement, and it's difficult not to feel like a slightly bewildered passenger all the way through.

Stop The Pounding Heart may have lacked some necessary detail, butStranger By The Lakeoffered far more than most could wish to see.

Directed, and introduced on-stage, byAlain Guiraudie, Stranger By The Lake is eventually a "thriller", though it is initially packaged as nothing more than relatively graphic pornography.

Franck (Pierre Deladonchamps)is a "cruiser", heading down to a lake where he strips down to join fellow gay men swimming andcavortingin the nearby woods. He soon falls for the muscular, Freddy Mercury-esque, Michel(Christophe Paou).

Things take a turn for towards more sinister waters when Franck witnesses Michel murdering his former partner, but Franck remains undeterredand continues his pursuit of Michel, culminating in some of the most graphic sex scenes to have graced the big screen, even on the notoriously provocative Croisette.

Scratching below the surface, there are several complex issues tackled in Stranger By The Lake, but I couldn't help but feel the entirely unnecessary ejaculation scene and on-screen felatio overshadowed anything that proceeded. That definitely didn't affect the majority of the rather sycophantic audience, who evidently took them as the cue for an extended and (one suspects) disingenuous bout of ovation once the credits rolled.

The final 15 minutes felt somewhat rushed and largely unrealised, with a lack of atmosphere built up to justify thesupposedsuspenseful conclusion.

Image: http://www.bleedingcool.com/wp-content/uploads//2013/03/lions-jacket-350x259.jpg ...

Speaking to Broadcast Magazine, an unnamed voice from inside the belly of Sony have proclaimed that, despite CBS deciding to ditch the pilot, their Beverly Hills Cop TV show will in fact make it to air.
It?s still in contention in the market; there?s still lots of interest. You will find that show on air.

Full-on confidence there, but there's not even a hint of where the show might turn up. This autumn's schedules for America's chief broadcast networks have all been made out now, so perhaps cable is more likely?

There's another side to this, too. The spokesman's comment tops off a a story that is otherwise about overseas sales for American shows. And the two topics aren't entirely separate, with Broadcast saying:
[Sony] will be keen to talk to acquisitions execs about the Beverly Hills Cop remake, which was an early favourite for many buyers.

Could we have another first on the rapidly evolving television landscape? Could Beverly Hills Cop be produced because international sales pay for it while, back home, it doesn't appear on TV at all?

Well, to me, it seems more unlikely that some network won't pick this up for the US than global sales would balance out the costs.

I'm now feeling pretty sure myself that we'll be seeing the show somewhere, soon enough, and I'm rather happy about that, myself.

You blew it, Zombieland haters.

Screenwriter and Zombieland co-creator Rhett Reese has been apportioning blame on Twitter.
Our Zombieland series will not be moving forward on Amazon.Sad for everyone involved.

? Rhett Reese (@RhettReese) May 17, 2013

I'll never understand the vehement hate the pilot received from die-hard Zombieland fans. You guys successfully hated it out of existence.

? Rhett Reese (@RhettReese) May 17, 2013

Anyway, we did our best, and we're very proud of our team.

? Rhett Reese (@RhettReese) May 17, 2013

His comment about hate might seem like hyperbole, but Reese maybe has a point. Amazon posted the pilot online to garner feedback from fans, and there were certainly a certain amount of harsh ones. Because Amazon allow you to filter by star rating, voyeurs might want to check out some of the 1-star reviews. Perverts.

The chief problem, I think, was the recasting. Fans were so wed to the movie stars that they didn't like seeing the roles re-filled.

I watched the episode myself and thought it was fine, and I can understand exactly why the recasting was essential. I was never really head over heels with the feature version, though, so perhaps that has some effect on my feelings.

Anyway, I liked both the film and pilot enough to want to see more. And I guess that now I won't.

Here's another episode of the Bleeding Cool Movie Podcast. Warning: this week, I try to adopt the language of an equal opportunities questionnaire and slightly botch it. Oops.

This week we talk just a little about the gender and race representations in Fast and Furious 6, The Great Gatsby reinvented as a crowd pleaser for Leo fans, how Vehicle 19 was a very hard movie to make and why I love Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated.

Thanks once again to Jason Staveley. You can listen to Jason and myself live on Monday and Friday mornings on Glide FM.

Back in the spring of 2011, David Lynch directed the live stream of Duran Duran concert. Today, the director's cut of this film is going to screen in the Cannes marketplace which, all things being equal, will see it snapped up for distribution. Judging from recent concert film releases, I expect we'll see a limited cinema roll-out followed by a DVD and Blu-ray.

But you can already watch most of it right now, legally, via the Duran Duran Vevo channel on YouTube. And... yes, it's obviously the work of Mr. Lynch. It's obviously recent work by him too, with the same kind of effects and images he's been including in his digital doodles, coffee commercials and music videos.

Get started with the concert here.

Another film in the same series saw Terry Gilliam working with Arcade Fire. I wonder if that's going to come around again too? It would certainly make me happy if it did.

Report: Christopher Nolan Offered The Next James Bond Film

Seeing as Sam Mendes has quite conclusively rebuffed their offers to return for more, it seems that James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have approached Chris Nolan with an offer to direct the next episode.

According to The Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye, who has a great track record with Bond stories, "informal talks" with Nolan and his people are underway.

Right at the moment, Nolan is gearing up to start production on his wormhole-hopping drama,Interstellar, and the Bond gig would likely have to see him double up with near back-to-back projects, both of which would be on quite the epic scale. This alone could very easily dissuade him.

And then there are these recurring stories about Bond 24 and 25 forming a diptych, something that appears to be echoed at the end of Bamigboye's report:
Mendes told me that there would be at least a year to 18 months of pre-production preparation and then six months of filming involved in Bond 24, and the producers want to shoot the follow-up soon after.

Even if Nolan does agree to the gig, it could be some time before we know about it. Interstellar will start shooting in the coming months, and post production is likely to take him very close to its November 2014 release date. Will EON Productions wait? Will they try to book ahead secure Nolan's services for a future Bond film now? Or will they just move one, for the time being at least, and look for another candidate?

I think there are better candidates, but then again, I said that about Sam Mendes and, by and large, I loved Skyfall, so...

I look the look of this - literally the look of it. And I can't wait to see it in its native 3D.

Suppose I should have expected that Jean-Pierre Jeunet's take on Americana would have been a cousin to Tim Burton's - and, no, I don't just mean the inclusion of Helena Bonham Carter. Don't you see a little bit of Pee Wee's Big Adventure or Big Fish in that encounter on the train, for example?

If you won't meet me at Tim Burton, I'll settle for the Coens. Howling Fat Men would be right at home here.

Anyway, I don't mean to make these images seem derivative or tired. Jeunet clearly has more ideas of his own than he knows what to do with. I particularly enjoyed the invention coming to life in 3D as Spivet doodles it down, cinema giving his imagination form that the rest of us can see. cf. Amelie's childhood friends, Amelie's kitchen daydream... just all of Amelie, really.
