Luke Cage Is Taking Bullets For Everybody

Mike Colter and Simone Missick visited Geeking Out for their eight episode and talked about Marvel's Luke Cage. Hosts Kevin Smith and Greg Grunberg started by bringing up filming in Harlem, but the conversation turned to the real life events going on in the news. The choice of having Cage where a hoodie while he's being shot at was not something chosen casually. The actor and showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker discussed the image of the man on the run superimposed with him doing good. Colter points out that its not a Black Lives Matter show, but even in a Marvel series you can't ignore what's going on and how he believes that being bulletproof would be a very desirable power with everything going on.

Marvel's Luke Cage debuts on Netflix September 30th.
