Scott Lobdell Goes To Harvard, Taking Comics To The Screen

ball_and_chain_4Scott Lobdell remains a man of many hats. A stand-up comedian-turned X-Men comics writer, he's written for film and television including the Tommy Lee Jones movie from 2005, Man Of The House and upcoming film Half To Death.

He also managed to turn one of his comics, the superhero romcom Ball And Chain, into a 2001 TV movie of the same name. It never got picked up as a series, though Syfy was looking at that more recently.

And it's that experience he will be focusing on in the Harvardwood Masterclass: From Concept to Comic to Screen – with Scott Lobdell taking place at Emerson LA on Sunset Boulevard on the evening of October 30th.

Scott Lobdell will be taking the class from an original idea, through a comic book pitch, to the creation of the comic, and what happens when Hollywood adapts it! (At least in the case of his creator owned comic BALL AND CHAIN, about a couple who is about to get a divorce but wind up with super powers that only work when they're together!)

Harvardwood is a nonprofit organization for members of the Harvard University community who believe in the power and purpose of the arts, media and entertainment. By providing professional resources and service opportunities, Harvardwood strives to utilize the creativity and leadership of their diverse members as forces for positive social change…
