Kim & Kim #2 Gets Darker Than Ever Before…
Mainstream comic book storytelling is fairly straightforward these days. Experimental narrative direction or use of the tools such as lettering, panel borders and direction of read are often ignored – with notable exceptions, such as Jonathan Hickman, Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie or Ryan North and Erica Henderson.
Well, with today's Kim & Kim #2, add Magdalene Visaggio, Eva Cabrera and Claudia Aguirre to that list.
And then…
And this isn't a cheat. It's a $3.99 book with 26 pages of story, including those black pages. Something that the likes of The Wicked + The Divine and Secret Wars have played with, successfully.
Just something worth acknowledging, of people doing cool things with the tools available.
Kim & Kim #2 is published today from Black Mask.
