Another Marvel And DC Comics Exclusive War Is Upon Us
The announcements are coming thicker and faster – and see more pointed as well.
Dan Abnett, made an exclusive DC writer when the first issues of his Civil War II mini-series weren't dry. Tom King, grabbed while half way through his critically acclaimed The Vision series. Tim Seeley, who was meant to be writing the much delayed Blade comic, last being shredded apart and put back together by Afua Richardson, is DC exclusive. Joelle Jones who was working on Mockingbird suddenly… isn't, and is DC exclusive. Sean Gordon Murphy has finished his Tokyo Ghost series as planned and is snapped up for two years for Batman.
But it's not all one-way, even if Marvel Comics are at the moment being less press releasey about it.
I understand that Marvel representatives have been targeting students of Scott Snyder's DC Comics Writers workshop.
Certainly Matthew Rosenberg, who was Scott Snyder's assistant in those classes has two books lined up at Marvel, Kingpin and Rocket Raccoon – and none at DC Comics. Is an announcement coming there soon too?
Either way, I expect some new language to enter those student agreement clauses in the next round.
