CGC Modifies New Holder To Address Concerns

cgc-holder-promoCGC is the leading company in the "slabbing" industry – grading comic books for their physical condition, then sealing them away in that condition. It has helped standardise grading levels and has blossomed in a digital world where much buying and selling is done remotely.

In April 2016, CGC introduced a new version of its slab holder. It was intended to provide a better view of the comic and be more durable at the same time.

However, in some examples, it was observed that the slabbed comic had a wavy appearance. And there was the belief the slabs could harm the comics.

CGC has stated that "in no instances did this slightly wavy appearance cause or reflect any damage to a book. Nonetheless, some collectors and dealers were understandably concerned."

As a result CGC has amended the new holder, to bring back the inner well of the previous holder that had been done away with, with the external look of the new version.

They state that this updated holder will be used on all submissions, including those currently at CGC.

And any customer who has one of the recent holders and a wavy appearance in their comics can contact CGC Customer Service at customerservice@cgccomics.com or on 877-662- 6642, for more on theirfree   review and reholder service.
