Does Ayme Sotuyo Fit The Lumberjanes Art Style?

Lumberjanes has had a considerable amount of artists over the past 25 plus issues. Each one managed to fit the quirky, bright, Lumberjanes style. This week brings the first issue with new artist, Ayme Sotuyo, so I was eager to see if her style meshed well. Granted, I trust that the creative geniuses that work on Lumberjanes, and make those kind of big decisions wouldn't choose someone who would majorly change the book. However, you can never be quite so sure. In fact, there are some comics that are negatively affected by artist changes, simply because the reading experience feels different. I had Rat Queens negatively impacted for me…

But back to Lumberjanes

So far we've had: Brooke A. Allen, Brittney Williams, Aimee Fleck, Faith Erin Hicks, Becca Tobin, Carolyn Nowak, Felicia Choo, and T. Zysk. Brooke Allen was certainly my favorite out of all of them, although some might argue that you can't notice a difference between most of their Lumberjanes issues. Now Amy Sutuyo has taken over, and I'm happy to report that she's doing a great job. I noticed a slight difference in the design of the characters, but only slight. They look a tad bit more cartoon-y, and a little less human. Nothing wrong with that!
This issue is all about Rosie and the High Council being stolen away, and how Jen handles being in charge of the camp. Check out the first few pages below and see the new artist at work for yourself!
