What is #YourNextComic?

Jamie Me writes,

This weekend I'm trying to create a new Twitter event aimed at getting readers involved with creators. It's going to be called #YourNextComic, and it's based on the popular #ComicTalk formula that draws in over 4 million impressions a week approximately.https://twitter.com/JamieMeWrites/status/697572432392101888

The #ComicTalk formula sees Twitter users tasked with answering questions based on a theme, and this week, under the name #YourNextComic, will see creators pitching their comics to new readers and everyone sharing their favourite comics. This is my latest attempt at making indie comics THE talking point of the week for the comic industry. The last event that was featured on Bleeding Cool about the comic press really did help a ton of people. Dozens of comic sites tweeted out support, and even that indie creators could send them content to review.

  • The goal of this week's special event is to engage readers with creators. I'm going to get tons of creators to pitch their comics, and for readers to respond with whether or not the pitch succeeded in gaining their interest. After that everyone will be sharing their comic suggestions. At the very least it's going to get everyone some new stuff to read. You can be a creator (of any level), reader or publisher and join in this weekend. To join in all you need is a Twitter account, and to show up at 10.00am PST. You can follow @JamieMeWrites or @YourNextComic for the questions. The questions will come every ten minutes, and all you have to remember is to hashtag #YourNextComic in every tweet. There will also be a lot of how-to graphics tweeted to help first timers joining in. It would be sweet to get the Bleeding Cool army joining in. Come discover some new comics.
