One Of Batman's Strangest Covers Becomes A Set Of Figures

Do you remember Detective Comics #241 and the multi-colored Batman costumes? No? Then here is the cover to jog your memory.

The idea behind the costumes was simple… for the era… Dick Grayson had gotten hurt by some robbers and injured his arm. An injury that Robin would also have. So to protect his secret identity without having to leave him out of the fight… Batman decided he would wear various bright colored version of his costume to confuse and distract the criminals, making them focus on his new suits rather than the Boy Wonder.

The art here was done by Sheldon Moldoff.

Last year DC Collectibles showcased a series of designs that were never made and let fans vote for one to go into production. The winner was the set of Rainbow Batman that will now be available in August for an MSRP of $70 (according to CNET)
