David F. Walker – Building A World Around Cyborg

CYBORG01David F. Walker, who recently worked on the Dynamite series Shaft, is scripting the new solo series for DC's Cyborg. Walker spoke with DC All-Access about the new series that debuted on Wednesday. Cyborg has gone through a change in his technology that he doesn't understand which he equates to going through puberty. The series is about Vic Stone figuring out who he is and what kind of hero he will be. Walker wants to explore both the human side of the character and how he would relate to some of today's real world issues. The writer wants to build a world for Cyborg as a solo character, not just the big tech guy on the Titans or Justice League.

Cyborg has been around for decades and has changed a bit over the years, but he's never been really the focus of a series and had a world build around him. This could be crucial with the idea of the character hitting the big screen in the future. What Walker brings to the table now may end up setting the table for the Cyborg movie in April 2020.
