Diamond Extends Its Olive Branch

body2-3098Diamond Comic Distributors is to expand its warehouse in Olive Branch, Mississippi, adding another 75,000 square feet of space onto it's already considerable 600,000 square foot facility.

The intent it to use this added space specifically for the weekly shipment processing for Olive Branch customers, which means the current space will be dedicated to reorder processing and inventory storage.

Bleeding Cool has noted that the direct market consistently grows year on year and there have been serious concerns from a number of retailers that Diamond has appeared to be overstretched of late, with increasing issues regarding delivery, packing and the correct items included. I attended one discussion at San Diego Comic Con in which retailers exchanged their horror stories. It might be hoped that greater space and resources might improve that.

The new space should be available in the autumn and will mark the second such expansion at Olive Branch since a 100,000 square foot upgrade last year to help with backlist items.
