Arrow / The Flash Spinoff Finds Its Hawkgirl

Hawkgirl_Kendra_Saunders_0001The Flash / Arrow spinoff has added one more hero. Actress Ciara Renée has been cast as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl. Renée started making her name on Broadway and recently guest starred on an episode of Law & Order: SVU.

According to reports, in the new series Saunders has just discovered that she has been reincarnated multiple times and has an ancient warrior persona that comes with wings that grow out of her back.

Not sure if she is considered one of the new to television characters that CW announced they were looking to fill since Hawkgirl has appeared in the Justice League animated series and made a couple appearances on Smallville played by Sahar Biniaz. But those were Shayera Hol not Kendra Saunders.

The new series is being put together by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim.
