As an artist failure is something that comes with the territory. Whether it's getting rejected when you first start to show your portfolio, doing battle with the over-erased areas on a page where you just can't seem to get those eyes to line up, or the waste basket filled with sketches that just aren't good enough, failure is a reality we deal with consistently until we get it right. Maybe this is why Matt Murdock has always resonated with me. I've always loved that even when he wins the fight he can sometimes look like he went 15 rounds with a Mack Truck and regardless of what may be bandaged, sore or broken, the very next night he gets up and he's back on the streets of Hell's Kitchen doing it all over again.
