DC Comics Move To $4.99 On The Newsstand

Photos taken in the wild by Bleeding Cool reader Travis Pelkie… DC Comics newsstand issues of Detective Comics #39, Justice League United #9, Batman/Superman #19 and Batman #38.

The comics are all $3.99 in comic stores, but $4.99 on the newsstand.

It's not the first time that the newsstand price has been higher than the comic store price – but it has come before the comic store price also rose. DC Comics still has a large number of comic store price points of $2.99 and a rise to $4.99 for Batman was recently dropped in the light of complaints from its creative team.

In comic stores at least. As this a one-off, a trial, a different model or the shape of things to come?
