James Gunn Is Almost Done With Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 Draft
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn visited the Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend Podcast and spoke about his plans for the upcoming Marvel sequel. He said that he came up with the story for the second film while making the first and it's not based on any specific comic. Gunn said that the film will answer some of the questions about Peter Quill's father and that he's a different person than who is the father in the comic book origin. When Gunn came up with the idea, he pitched it to Marvel as soon as the sequel was approved. The response was "that's risky" but he was told to go on. Gunn says in the next few weeks he'll be turning in the script and finding out if it worked.
Gunn also said that we'll get to know the characters a little better and we'll get to meet some new characters, a couple of whom will be very important to Guardians movies and to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set to hit theaters May 5th, 2017.
