Earlier, I alerted you that Nintendo Direct is happening tomorrow and it looks like we may have our first leak prior to the presentation.
It was a pretty safe bet that Nintendo would talk about the New 3DS and it looks like the internet may have already beaten them to the punch. The above photo turned up on NeoGAF with little to no context, showing a red version of the new handheld console. The release date states that the console will come out on February 13th alongside Majora’s Mask 3D and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
In case you didn’t know, the New 3DS is the upcoming handheld console form Nintendo. It’s an odd one too. The console can play 3DS games and is obviously part of the 3DS line, but there are a few games that will only run on the New 3DS because of the improved CPU like Xenoblade Chronicles.
It’s worth noting this could just be fake, but it all looks and feels legitimate to me. We only have a little while until we find out though. I’ll see you at Nintendo Direct.
