A Comic Show – Black Cap, Female Thor, And Douchey Iron Man!

Aaron Haaland of A Comic Shop in Orlando, Florida, writes:

Hey Fandom, I'm back with a fat stack of new comics now! Marvel wins the week, we have a bunch of Image books, and a couple of Bat-books to round it out.

All New Captain America #1 really worked for me. They grounded Sam's motivation not as a super soldier, but more of a super activist, and I'm down! Captain America and the Mighty Avengers #1 is out too, and while it's a great read, this is the Axis version of New Cap working with Iron Man. Superior Iron Man #1 has Tony go full douchebag. Don't get me wrong, this is the natural extension of his character after the Axis Inversion, and I'm excited to see Superior Tony vs Daredevil, but those last few pages were a new low. Speaking of Axis, you really can't enjoy the new Iron Man without reading Axis, and Axis #5 is just insane. Thor #2 continued the new adventures of the female Thor. I don't even care that I don't know who she is. Jason Aaron is first making us care about her, then he'll let us know her backstory.

Image is on fire these days. We got Outcast, The Walking Dead, Wytches, and more. The new Drifter #1 was an erie cool sci-fi mystery. Dynamite/Vertigo gave us Django/Zorro by Tarantino and Wagner, if you like any of those four thing, you'll love this book. I'm ready for the movie adaptation already!

Over at DC there's another Batgirl in the all new, all fun direction. If you liked last issue, this one takes the road built with that and puts samurai bikers on it. Batman #36 is everything I love about Snyder, Capullo, and their whole run put into one issue! Endgame has Joker, the rogues, the Justice League, and the Bat-family, on the New 52 Gotham stage built by these modern masters. I can't see how anyone could like Batman and not enjoy this!
