Marvel Comics' The Avengers To Publish Its Final Issue With #44 In April 2015

AVEN2012038-Peterson-7f271November sees the publication of Avengers #38 with this listing.

AVENGERS #38
JONATHAN HICKMAN (W) • STEFANO CASELLI (A)
Cover by BRANDON PETERSON
ROCKET RACCOON & GROOT VARIANT BY TBA
IN 6 MONTHS…TIME RUNS OUT!
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99

Six months would lead to April, with the publication of Avengers #44. But how literally should we take this?

Because Marvel have announced to retailers a new promotion for the Avengers #44 Final Issue Variant to help bump advance orders of Axis #1.

Just as retailers were encouraged to do with Wolverine #1 and Wolverine #12, retailers are told that they can exchange two ripped off front covers of any unsold copies of Axis #1 for one copy of an exclusive Final Issue variant issue of Avengers #44, as long as stores order Axis #1 at 250% their orders of Original Sin #2, a comic that sold just over 100,000.

Yup, final issue. Time Runs Out. The end of the Marvel Universe. Or something like that.
