Hilarious Action Comic Kills a Character Every Issue, Randomly!

B-Squad: Soldiers of Misfortune. Writer/Creator: Eben E.B. Burgoon. Pencils/Inks: Jon Williams. Coloring: Claudia Palescandolo. Letters: Michael Finn. Kickstarter Campaign for a 84+ page graphic novel ending on September 11, 2014. Projected Shipping: December 1st

B-Squad is a six member unit composed of cut-rate mercenaries. They are the poor man's A-Team. They are expendable. They are replaceable. They are the soldiers of misfortune. Each issue covers an entire mission in which one character dies at random (determined by the spin of a six sided gambling teetotem). The next issue begins with their funeral, an introduction of a new recruit and followed by a new mission assignment.

Michael Finn writes,

What do feral Bill Murray, a colorblind Navy Seal, free range cambodian mogwui, a city made out of masking tape, a disgruntled trigger-happy French hitman, a hive mind colony of Hawaiian dachshunds and a former swimsuit model turned exotic game hunter all have in common?

Stumped?

It's B-Squad, of course!

B-Squad: Soldiers of Misfortune is a humorous action/adventure comic series that highlights the successes, but mostly failures, of a cut-rate group of mercenaries. B-Squad is a six member unit, each with their own unique backstory and deficiency. The catch is, in every issue a character is unceremoniously killed off. To Eben Burgoon, creator of B-Squad, dead is dead. No clones, no zombies, no frankensteins, just dead. Since he is a glutton for punishment he adds the additional twist of leaving the choice of who dies to the whims of fate. A 6-sided tee-totem (think spinning top, like a dreidel) is spun and the number it hits decides the next character to be fitted for cement shoes.

The ever changing nature of B-Squad itself inspired Eben to collaborate with multiple artist to help showcase new and upcoming talent in the comic world. The first issue was illustrated and colored by Lauren Monardo, known to some for her work on The Venture Bros. as a storyboard artist. Issues two and three, a two part story-line, is being inked by newcomer, Jon Williams, of Sacramento, and colored by rising star, Claudia Palescandolo, all the way from Italy. Issue four will take B-Squad to Hawaii to rescue a deranged millionaire who's squandered his fortune to genetically engineer a superior breed of dachshunds.

Are you still on board with this ridiculous humor action-adventure rollercoaster? B-Squad is collecting all 84 pages of adventure and more into Volume 1, available on Kickstarter now for just $20, thanks to Bleeding Cool.

With this Kickstarter, we're hoping to reach to $14,000 to get all 6 issues produced at the same time and printed in one book available for the holidays. The more we raise the more everyone gets for their buck!

The B-Squad kickstarter runs from now until September 11th at 10:30pm PST.
