Comic Industry Reacts To… Boom's Hypnotic Sloth

Yesterday evening, the comic industry social media was hit with a bizarre animated gif of an hypnotic sloth.

Teaser GIF

The image was shared without any context or commentary. Not even a hashtag. And so far no one has stepped forward with an explanation.

Comic professionals that tweeted it included:

Are you still worth is, or in an animalistic hypnotic stupor? There was initially some confusion in identifying the animal:

And why it was being blasted out across the Twitterverse:

But, if you were to draw a line between those doing the tweeting, many of them are Boom! creators… or those who probably will be Boom! creators over the next two weeks.

And Boom! staff joined in.

And the list goes on and on to include virtually every editor, marketing staff, and assistant editor that I know of at the company. This looks tied to one of Boom!'s fifteen pre-Diego announcements. Either that or they and a bunch of creators' Twitter accounts were hacked.

Won't take us long to find out. Even for a sloth…
