Jack Kirby's Captain Victory Returns With Joe Casey And Nathan Fox

The annual Diamond Retailer Seminar is this weekend and Dynamite is rolling out a half-dozen announcements and the next one here involves the King.

We start with Captain Victory And The Galactic Rangers. Created by Jack Kirby, the characters are being re-imagined by Joe Casey and Nathan Fox. The first issue will hit stores in August and will include interior art by Jim Rugg and Ulises Farinas with a cover by Fox.

"As a fan, this was the first Kirby creation I was in on the ground floor of… so to be writing this series is a big deal and a huge honor," says writer Joe Casey. "And we've got some of the best artists in the business — a lot of my favorite artists, in fact — to turn this thing into a jam of cosmic proportions. And just like Kirby always did, we're going to be pushing the envelope in all sorts of cool ways."

Next up we see something that we heard about back during Comicon last summer. Fox's Bob's Burgers is getting the comic book treatment by the very creators that make the television series, Bento Box Entertainment. This series will also kick off in August.

"If you like Bob's Burgers and you like comic books then you may feel like you're living in one of the greatest times in human history because Bob's Burgers and comic books are coming together in the form of the Bob's Burgers Comic Book. But of course we could really mess it up. Then you'd feel like you were living in one of the worst times in human history. Either way, we hope you'll check out the first few issues. We tried to make something that's true to the show and true to the form without being a sad knock-off of either." – Loren Bouchard, The creator of Bob's Burgers
