So What Is This Marvel 100th Anniversary Anyway? Our Best Guess

11276214-largeIn July, Marvel are publishing a number of 100th Anniversary themed specials from a variety of creators, including James Stokoe. We may have mentioned this earlier.

But what exactly is the anniversary? Marvel weren't around in 1914.

So this is just a guess. A best guess. It would be rather non-expected. But Marvel do have a habit of doing such things.

What if it is not an anniversary of anything Marvel?

Could it be the 100th anniversary of two men, both born in 1914, who did something special?

Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the creators of Superman, were born in 1914, Shuster in July, Siegel in October. Could it be the anniversary of the men who created the superhero?

It's just a guess. I expect we'll find out more at C2E2, don't you?

Any other guesses?
