IDW Announces John Buscema Silver Surfer, Walt Simonson Manhunter Artist’s Editions, Stephen King & Simonson Lawnmower Man Portfolio

IDW has announced their third Artist’s Edition featuring art by Walt Simonson, Manhunter and Other Stories, to be released in September. It will include the Manhunter story from the classic 1973 Detective Comics backups, along with Simonson Batman, Dr. Fate, Metal Men, and Captain Fear material. IDW Special Projects Editior Scott Dunbier shared that IDW will announce another DC Artist’s Edition at the Big Wow convention.

In October, IDW will be releasing an Artist’s Edition of John Buscema‘s Silver Surfer. It will not include a complete 1st issue, but as much as IDW was able to track down, plus later Buscema issues from the series and other material.

Scheduled for July is an Artist’s Portfolio for Lawnmower Man, a Stephen King short story adapted by Walt Simonson which appeared in Marvel’s Bizarre Adventures #29 in 1981. The portfolio will include 21 pages and the cover.
