Things To Do In Gosh Comics In London This Week

tumblr_static_ydan_slick_rickTonight, Gosh Comics launched the new issue of Yours Days Are Numbers magazine with this Hip Hop Family Tree exclusive print, available from today for £15.

Alongside the usual excellent comics coverage, there are interviews with Hip Hop luminaries such as Afrika Bambaattaa and Aspects. All of that and it sports a fetching Ed Piskor cover to boot! with this in mind it seems appropriate that Gosh! only plays old school Hip Hop all day.

Then on Friday, they have the launch of Kate Evans' new graphic novel, Bump from 7pm. There will be drinks…

Myriad Editions have a string of unconventional graphic novels under their belt, including one of our favourites, Science Tales by Darryl Cunningham. Now they're publishing Bump by Kate Evans (called the most original talent in comics he's seen in a long time by Steve Bell), a book all about the ins-and-outs and gooey details of conception, pregnancy, and birthing.

And then on Saturday, Kevin O'Neill will be signing League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Nemo: Roses of Berlin from 2pm to 6pm.

ROB is a continuation of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen series, following last year's Nemo: Heart of Ice tale, which focuses on the adventures of science-fiction brigand Janni Nemo. This time Janni has to travel to a Berlin occupied by the dictator Adenoid Hynkel to save her loved ones, who have been taken hostage by a mysterious but familiar enemy. Heavily influenced by Expressionist German Cinema of the Weimar Republic, this Nemo is a thrilling ride through shadows, totalitarian nightmares, and mechanical monsters.

And while you're at it why not pick up Black Dossier complete with the vinyl single that DC Comics wouldn't publish, available only in person at Gosh Comics… but remember, a maximum of four items signed per person!

And in a week or so, they have the Lord Hurk's Bazoik Launch Party from 7pm to 9pm on 4th April.

Bazoik is out through Fancy Butcher Press, who Hurk is one half of andwho you may know through their lovely anthologies, Static Revolter. Bazoik is 44 pages of "fantastic action-soaked tales of surreal crime and absurd two-bit hoodlums" at £5, and it'll be silly of you to miss out on it. Especially as we're giving it the full Gosh! launch party treatment, with nice music, free booze, and great company.

So if you see a Gosh Comcis employye, pat them on the back. They're probably a bit worn out.
